OK – listen up folks and small businesses….Facebook has rules AKA Terms of Service (TOS) for a reason. Now, you may not agree with all of them, but my kids do not agree with all my rules either. But the deal here is, you may not just lose TV privileges, but your Facebook page that you probably have spent much time and effort building and marketing. Now imagine waking up one morning and *poof* it has disappeared? Then in order to get it back up, you have to pay legal fees or start from scratch – yikes! You may know a lot of people who are: running an illegal contest, making a Facebook profile page a business, or violating Facbook’s TOS and are getting away with it. Do I need to pull my Mom voice here, “Just because everyone else is doing it does not make it OK!” Yes, trying to scare you a little here…because I care about businesses.
One of my jobs is to stay quite familiar with all the constantly changing rules of Facebook. As a matter of fact, I often send a nice note to businesses just to let them know that I noticed they are breaking the Terms of Service and would hate to see their Facebook page get pulled. I want all businesses to succeed in the social media world..
