How many people people in your life have the keys to your home, your car, your safety deposit box? Your answer is probably, just close family or a trusted neighbor. When developing your business on-line, it is possible that many different skilled professionals have touched your media presence and created or accessed your on-line passwords and logins along the way. To be competitive in today’s market, there is a chance that professionals are needed to set up: SEO, buy your domain, run social media, design and host your website, claim your company on Geolocation/reputation platforms and create your mail system. What if all those key players disappeared tomorrow, would you, as a business owner know how to access any of it? It is scary to think how many companies completely trust or rely on other people, either internally or externally, to be in complete control of their digital presence. This is not just about trust either, it is about being cautious and protecting YOUR company. Things often happen unexpectedly along the way with relationships, companies and people’s well-being. Maybe you haven’s asked for the information or maybe you are not sure what to ask your “web people” for. Please make sure you have ownership and understanding of how to access everything digital for your company. If anyone along the way refuses to empower you by handing over all your information on a silver platter, it is a huge red flag.
~Greta believes at least 2 people, including the company owner, should have access to all company login/access information. You just never know. greta@kickify.com if you have questions about what to ask, or are just getting started. ~
